The 6th annual thematic day, jointly organized by UEHP (European Union of Private Hospitals) and Relyens, took place in July 2025 in Brussels on a key topic: the implementation of artificial intelligence in healthcare. A meeting where the diversity of perspectives enriched the debate, the outcomes of which are now available in a summary report.
An event enriched by its participants
True to its participatory format, the day brought together representatives from the European Commission, the WHO Regional Office for Europe, and numerous healthcare stakeholders. Together, they discussed the challenges, risks, opportunities, and best practices accompanying this decisive phase in the adoption of AI.
A publication to extend the debate
The summary of the discussions is published as part of our Debate series and is structured around three main sections:
- An overview of the current deployment of AI in healthcare, the ongoing and planned European public initiatives, and an analysis of the impact of existing EU regulations on the civil liability of healthcare professionals and institutions.
- Three concrete case studies of AI and data integration at the heart of patient care, including that of Foch Hospital in France.
- A forward-looking reflection on the challenges to be addressed for data and AI to deliver tangible benefits—whether in terms of cultural transformation, data structuring, or preventing professional deskilling.
