Experience – Our employees

2022 Business report

Experience – Our employees

Encouraging the development if our employees and giving them the means to play an active role in our mission.

Groupe Relyens site de Vasselay

Companies today are evolving in a range of different ways, whether culturally, societally, technologically or ecologically.  Ensuring that each employee thrives and embraces these changes, becoming an actor in these transformations, is the main challenge for organisations today.

It is also about addressing the new expectations of employees in terms of work organisation, work-life balance, and Quality of Life at Work (QLW) to enhance attractiveness, integration, and talent retention, which are necessary for the Group’s continued development.

Relyens Head of Human Resources

“In recent years, across all our European sites, the relationship with work and the company has evolved.  Employees expect hyper-personalisation in what their company offers them.  Data and Artificial Intelligence have entered the field of Human Resources to better understand and anticipate needs.  Work organisation, on the other hand, has been disrupted with a real need for flexibility.  The democratisation of new work methods has called for managerial adaptation by placing transparency and ‘care’ at the heart of relationships.  Finally, the quest for meaning, sustainability and environmental issues have found a major place at the heart of the company.  All of this has led us to rethink and revisit our service offering and propose new ones that combine digital dimension and human proximity. “

“To address current HR challenges, attract new employees, and create a unique and sustainable work environment for our teams, we have built a true employee experience within Relyens that is consistent with our employer promise.  This approach revolves around two fundamental aspects: the employee journey and the HR offering, services and programmes we provide within the Group.  This experience begins even before joining Relyens and continues throughout our journey within the Group. The aim is to create a strong and solid collective around a common project, guiding the professional and personal development for each of us and contributing to well-being in the workplace.”

“Just like with the customer experience, the Human Resources teams used feedback from employees to guide them in putting together employee journeys, across all the countries where the Group operates. This journey is adapted to our needs thanks to a listening process present at every stage (feedback, social barometer…), so that each of us can express ourselves, advance in our journey and enhance our experience. Carrying out our activities, building bonds with our employees and developing engagement, it’s all simply about allowing Relyens to fulfil its ImpACT 2025 plan.“

Our key actions

Relyens1-2000-14

Sunshine-me, a support platform for our European employees

This platform, financed by the business and available to everyone, offers around 20 different services. These services are aimed at supporting our employees when they come up against certain situations. For these, Relyens seeks to provide support, without interfering in their private lives. Sunshine-me provides solid solutions for situations where one may feel somewhat helpless or poorly informed (carers, health, housing initiatives, etc.), as well as effective guidance for employees regarding parenting.

Training, at the heart of our employees’ professional development

Whether a new objective which requires specific guidance, a project which needs a push to move forward, consolidating know-how… At Relyens, each employee has the chance to gain training when necessary. Available are individual and group training, on-site or remote, aimed to help employees successfully complete their goals, effectively and confidently. In 2022, new modules were deployed on our Digital Campus for various topics: insurance, data literacy, well-being in the workplace, stress management, public speaking, working from home, boosting creativity, language learning and more.

Sophie FRAISSE & Lucas JENOUDET
Head of Management & Employee Relations at Relyens & HR Development Officer at Relyens

“At Relyens, skill acquisition is at the centre of the transformation strategy. In 2022, over 22,000 training hours were clocked at group level. This was all with the aim of supporting change at the cultural, managerial and business levels, for groups and individuals. In recent years, the spirit of learning at Relyens has seen a marked change, based around three key aspects:

First, ensuring that there are solutions mixing learning dynamics, modalities and formats. Certain business training programmes, such as SoftSkills for the compensation teams, are original creations of Relyens, designed and deployed for our teams to support their professional transformation.

Second, training designed for our teams has an international scope, such as hybrid collaboration training or, more recently, manger training based around coaching.

Finally, in order to connect our learning dynamic to the individual, we offer learning contents on our Digital Campus. In total, there are more than 200 digital modules accessible to everyone, to go at their own pace.

Our mission: to create the conditions by which our teams and individuals can be fully engaged with their learning and development paths.”

A renewed onboarding process

The onboarding of new starters, a key moment in their experience at the company. Joining Relyens is an opportunity to benefit from an onboarding journey from the acceptance of our job offer and the following few months afterwards. This journey gives the means for new starters to take their place with confidence and to feel as comfortable as possible within the Group.

“Before taking up a new post, each new employee is provided, via a digital platform, with a variety of content to facilitate their onboarding and help them understand our Group, our history, our culture, our mission and our DNA. A few days prior to their arrival, each employee receives a physical Welcome Card welcoming them to the team and telling them how much their teams is looking forward to meeting them.

Onboarding continues after taking up the position with the onboarding journey.  Taking place remotely, in French or English, it allows for the inclusion of new starters from all our sites in Europe. In 2022, 252 employees joined Relyens across our various European sites, and over 180 participated.

After 3 collaborative workshops, the journey concludes with a highlight: the surprises chat with Dominique Godet. Through this open and direct exchange, our new employees share as a group what has surprised them, both positive and negative, and propose avenues for emphasising and/or improving their experience.  This unique approach positions them as stakeholders in our transformation from the moment they arrive and fosters a culture of initiative within Relyens.”

Digital Legal Manager at Relyens

“The onboarding workshops are an opportunity to meet new arrivals from other teams and share our common concerns during workshops with rich and varied exchanges, both general and more confidential. In general, it seems to me that this facilitates the understanding of our new environment and allows us to feel comfortable quickly! ”

THIGER-Bruno
Bruno THIGER
Proxy Product Owner Business Unit QualNet at Relyens

“It’s a strong point of Relyens, which we should capitalize on and be particularly proud of.  These exchanges also highlight, through the surprise reports, our shortcomings in the onboarding process. I think that through all of this, we’re definitely contributing to improving the satisfaction of new employees, the group’s onboarding process, and certainly a little bit of ourselves! “
