Transformation underway

2022 Business report

Being a mission-Driven Company is a model that commits us to making a positive impact on Society and has prompted us to rethink ourselves in order to address tomorrow’s challenges in society and to undertake an in-depth transformation within a changing ecosystem.

A mission that leads us forward and guides us collaboratively

To act and innovate
alongside those who work in the general interest,
to build a trust-based world.

This is the ‘raison d’être’ that drives our 1,100 employees in France, Spain, Italy and Germany. Redefined in 2020 as part of Relyens’ Mission-Driven Company project, it describes the way in which we intend to make a tangible contribution to the Society of Tomorrow.

A strategic plan built and implemented to support our mission

UK

To give our ‘raison d’être’ substance we have established 4 social and environmental objectives. Each has been broken down into 12 commitments that apply to all the markets we serve. Guiding our Group’s strategic thinking, they have been incorporated into each teams’ roadmaps. Every commitment has been reflected in concrete actions, with associated targets and indicators to assess the results achieved. This is how we will achieve a positive and lasting impact on our ecosystems.

RISK MANAGEMENT

To secure and enable the continuity of our customers’ and members’ business

We do much more than compensate our customers for their losses.  We work alongside them to detect, analyse and prevent risk in order to reduce their impact and/or avoid their occurrence. In the event of an incident, we are committed to reacting effectively and dealing with the consequences.

EXPERIENCE

To put fairness and equality at the heart of relationships between our stakeholders

These are core values as they establish reciprocity and shared responsibility between Relyens and its stakeholders. They determine our collaborative success. They also echo our Group’s mutualist DNA and form the pillars of the transformation we are carrying out to serve our customers and members.

Governance open to our environment

In choosing to be a Mission-Driven Company we have also opted for a new governance body for our Group: the Mission Committee, that is open to our environment and consists of internal and external stakeholders.

In accordance with the PACTE law of May 2019, the Mission Committee endorses the proper execution of the mission.  Its 7 members analyse the commitments made by our Group with the concrete actions implemented to achieve them, as well as their impact. This assessment is presented annually in a report that is made public and attached to the management report shared with the General Meeting responsible for approving the company’s financial statements.

Under its informed supervision, the Mission Committee will help us to increase our impact and make long-term improvements to our actions for the benefit of healthcare professionals and local authorities, and their beneficiaries: patients and citizens.

Bringing our mission to life, setting it in motion and determining the pace in a coordinated way involves the entire Relyens community.  To achieve this we have rethought how to manage it:

  • An ImpACT2025 Management Committee
Led by our Chief Executive Officer, Dominique Godet, and several employees, the committee ensures the consistency and implementation requirements of our project. It also checks that the conditions for success are in place.
  • Management created to allow each employee to play a part in the mission                                                                                                    All the teams have been gradually involved in transforming the strategy into annual roadmaps. This “cascading” exercise consists of consistently converting the mission into concrete actions. This enables us to ensure that the strategic project is properly implemented and to reinforce our action principles. It incorporates Relyens social commitments, focuses on our transformation challenges, guarantees horizontal and vertical alignment and aims to focus our energy on what is essential.

Social responsibility at the centre of our activity

The Mission-Driven Company and Sustainable Development are 2 complementary approaches that form the pillars of our social and environmental commitment. While the first establishes a company’s usefulness and mission and points it in the right strategic direction, the second provides practical support and ensures its credibility.

Since 2021, we have concentrated our efforts on implementing a new Mission-Driven Company model across all the Group’s entities. 2022 has been, on the other hand, a year of implementation and deployment to bring the mission to life at every level of the company. This new model has enabled us to select our priorities to support the general interest and to collaboratively build our own standard of social commitment.  This approach has been endorsed by the Mission Committee and the Independent Third Party Organisation as being relevant, coherent and effective.

The momentum has begun. Our current challenge is to ensure that each of the Group’s Divisions develops responsibly. There must be total commitment over the long-term, guided by a constant desire to limit our negative externalities and improve our impact on society.
